Fingal Goes Electric As E-bike Sharing Scheme Arrives On Time

Fingal County Council has today announced the arrival of its first e-bike sharing scheme. Introduced with the support of the Council’s Department of Environment, the Tier e-bike system is all part of the national Active Travel initiative and will see the rollout of 100 battery power-assisted bicycles, also known as e-bikes, in Howth, Baldoyle and other areas throughout Fingal.
Locals are being encouraged to look out for the distinctive aqua-coloured bikes and to give them a try. E-bikes offer battery power to help along the journey and the powers-that-be are hoping that travelling by e-bikes will become the climate-friendly option that gets people out of their cars. With up to 80km battery life, e-bikes are ideal for longer journeys or trips where a little extra oomph might be required as the battery power kicks in after a moment or two of pedaling, improving pedal power and reducing journey times.
