Coast Residents Show Small Steps Make Big Impact On Climate

Coast Residents’ Association achieved a dramatic reduction of 176kgs of CO2 per person and with it took the overall 3rd place in the Fingal Climate Heroes Challenge. This was a marvellous effort by residents where individual actions and small changes to behaviour made for a wonderful, eco-friendly, community outcome.
The Climate Heroes challenge competition is an initiative of Global Action Plan. It is the first national climate competition for community groups in Ireland, with the aim of showing how simple measures by individuals can help to reduce their climate footprint on a daily basis – both at home, in their free time and at work.
Coast Residents were quick to take up the challenge and while the project and the glory maybe temporary in nature, the actions and effort of the Coast Residents’ Association is set to have a lasting impact and to (hopefully) be the catalyst for other local groups to follow.
