Fingal RHA Studio Award Opportunity Opens For 2023
Fingal County Council Arts Office in partnership with the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) School, are offering an opportunity of a funded studio space for a professional artist for the period of one year; the residency will commence at the end of September 2023.
The award is open to practising artists at all stages in their professional careers working in visual art. To be eligible to apply, applicants must: have been born, have studied, or currently reside in the Fingal administrative area.
Eleanor McCaughey was the successful recipient of this residency award in 2022; she is a visual artist with a multidisciplinary practice including painting, sculpture, video and sound.
During her time in the Fingal RHA Studio Residency McCaughey has been researching and developing a new visual language that deals with themes of belonging, displacement, and loss of faith, looking at theological and cosmic notions through experimentation.
