Howth Heads In Need Of New Names Says Fingal

Fingal County Council and the Old Irish Goat Society announced the birth of several kid goats who will be calling Howth Head their home. These new kids on the block will be a welcome addition to the existing herd which is already hard at work, grazing the land to stave off gorse fires and keeping the area healthy and the scrub vibrant all year round.

Fingal is now encouraging locals to get creative with name suggestions and have expressed particularly interest in names with Irish roots and origins, either from history or mythology. Submissions will be shortlisted by judges with the final decision made by public vote.

The lucky winner will then be invited to meet their named goat for a photoshoot on picturesque Howth Head with the Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Howard Mahony.

To submit your name suggestion, please visit https://www.fingal.ie/howth-head-kid-goat-naming-competition. Entries must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, 17 May.
