Last Orders Called As Abbey Tops €2m Price Tag

After four generations of being owned and operated by the Tobin family, Richard Tobin is set to turn the key for one last time as the Abbey changes hands almost six months since first going on the market.
Just Local understands that the premises has been acquired by a business consortium headed up by property investor and developer Daniel Givens. While the price paid has not been disclosed, the pub is understood to have secured in the region of €2 million, or around 14 per cent above the €1.75 million asking price that John Ryan, of agent Bagnall Doyle MacMahon had been guiding when he put it on the market last September.
This is a great achievement and a fitting end for Richard, the Tobin family and the staff, who have worked tirelessly over the years to ensure the position, the history and the aura of the Abbey is maintained.
With gratitude for their contribution to Howth, we wish Richard and family the very best for the future.
