Launch Imminent On Santa Sabina Development
The Santa Sabina apartments, a Park Development project, is now nearing completion and will probably be launched on the rental market in the Autumn. Among the necessary infrastructure works to be carried out was the laying of new sewage pipes from the development to the pumping station close to Sutton Dart Station, and this caused major disruption to residents when Sutton Cross traffic endured significant tailbacks.
This build-to-rent scheme has had a long and varied pathway, with the first application for the development being lodged with Fingal Co Council in 2010. Subsequently, in April 2018, it applied and received permission from An Bord Pleanala for the development of 86 apartments and 10 houses.
A further application was made which sought and received permission for greater heights on two blocks and the replacement of the ten houses with three additional blocks and successfully raised the total number of apartments to 143 units, 168 car and 270 bike spaces.
This is a significant addition to the area and while there is concern that it and other developments in progress will increase pressure on existing infrastructure, pressure will also be applied on Fingal, to ensure that bottlenecks are resolved and new arrivals can enjoy the area, just as much as the existing residents.
