People Power Press For Proper Access To Public Transport NOW!
Baldoyle/Congriffin residents have called time on the dangerous access provided to the DART entrance on the Baldoyle side of Clongriffin. While the DART+ Coastal North is in the offing, a more pressing and immediate need for locals in the area is to secure the entrance to the DART station which over time has become unsafe and frequently inaccessible to those with a disability/poor mobility or parents with buggies, and is in need of immediate repair.
At a time when Government policy and Fingal’s Active Travel is top of the agenda, the “temporary” stairwell required to enter the DART station has now become a “permanent” construct, which is a disgrace and not fit for purpose. Meanwhile the lift is often broken and access for the disabled, mothers with young children and people with poor mobility is not an option and even when in operation, the stench of the lift is a sober reminder that one is entering a health hazard.
Following consistent representation to Fingal, Irish Rail and Richmond Homes, Myrtle The Coast Residents Association has now decided enough is enough and have launched a people’s petition which will be brought to the attention of the Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan.
Locals in the Howth, Sutton, Baldoyle and Bayside are now asked to sign the online petition and help send a clear and unequivocal statement to the governing parties, that proper DART access has to be provided for the Baldoyle/Clongriffin residents.
