Suttonians Kick Start Season With First Half Blitz
With the Indian summer providing perfect conditions for running rugby, Suttonians kickstarted their season in the Leinster League Division 1A, running out with a 38-17 win and bagging a four try bonus point for their efforts.
The visitors were never able to contend with Suttonians quick ball and the home side went through the phases to notch up a 26-05 lead by half time. The second half saw a rear guard action from Kilkenny and although honors were evenly divided, the outcome was never in doubt.
Meanwhile Suttonians 2nd’s team provided the undercard to the main event, where they met a well drilled Kilkenny unit, eventually going down 26-0.
The season is truly up and running and next stop is away to Ashbourne, Saturday, October 1 @ 3pm. All welcome in the touring party!
