From Waterside to Ringside – McGregor Takes Out Local Hostelry
Favourite local bar the Waterside has been bought by MMA supremo, “The Notorious”, Conor McGregor. This bout ran the full 12 rounds and while rumours were rife months ago, The Currency confirmed what the dogs on the street were barking weeks ago. This is the second bar that McGregor has purchased and follows his 2020 purchase of The Black Forge in his hometown of Crumlin and which has gone undergone a considerable upgrade.
McGregor is no stranger to the drinks business and the purchase of his Proper No. Twelve Whiskey by Becle spirits, owner of Jose Cuervo and the largest producer of tequila worldwide is reputed to have netted him $600 million dollars. Of course if “The Notorious” ever recovers from his whipping at the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov, word has it that he might get back into the ring again.
Here’s hoping peace reigns with the pints and that house rules don’t get confused with Queensbury Rules when last orders are called.
