Into The Unknown By Catherine Lennon Takes The Gong At 30th Baldoyle Art Expo

The Baldoyle Annual Art Exhibition held last weekend in aid of the St Francis Hospice had a large variety of wonderful exhibits on display and the selection of work submitted was of a very high calibre.

Local business was as ever to the fore, with Blueribbon Framing, The White House, B2 Hair Studio, The One Café, Adrian Dunne, Sutton Cross Pharmacy, Expert Hardware, Geraldine Ryan and Graham Blake providing the pizzazz with a range of prizes.

The winning entry, chosen by Sarah O’Neill of Fingal Art Office, was the above work – Into The Unknown, by Catherine Lennon. In the judge’s citation, Sarah O’Neill commented on the fear created by transition for children, from the familiar to the unknown and how this work had captured the sense of anxiety and apprehension.

As well as showcasing the rich array of talent in the local area, the event also raised over €1,200 for St Francis Hospice, Raheny and the wonderful care they provide.
