Jennings Puts The Boot In As Suttonians Take The Honors
On a more autumnal Saturday, Suttonians hit the ground running and raised the heat in the Leinster League Division 1A fixture away to Ashbourne. With a more familiar team sheet, early pressure saw Suttionians take a 24 – 0 lead by half time. Conor Jennings’ kicking boots were well polished, delivering a haul of six from six, ensuring the result was never in doubt.
Despite a more robust performance from the home side in the second half, a resolute Suttonians defence kept the scoreboard in-tact and with 10 minutes remaining, the bonus point was bagged.
Other scores included a brace from James McConnon and Darragh Kelly. While the flying open side, Andrew Ussher, dove over the line to score from a well timed interception by James Hurley.
This builds on the fine win over Dundalk RFC, and bodes well for the upcoming home fixture this Saturday against Monkstown, Kickoff 3.30. Fireworks assured.
