Suttonians take the plaudits on difficult day trip

Fresh Faces for Suttonians: Daniel Murray, Dylan McEvoy and Oisín Heaney Club President Gordon Linehan.

On a lazy bank holiday Saturday, the Suttonians Senior team headed up north to Dromore to play in the All Ireland Junior Cup against Dromore RFC. With a lot of fresh faces on the team sheet, this fixture was all about experience and getting younger players up to speed with the demands of an All-Ireland competition. And so it proved the case and despite great efforts by the Sutton side, a cannier, well drilled Dromore put 5 tries over the tourists.

But what turned out to be a difficult day on the pitch, did have a sweeter end with a lovely note of commendation from the Dromore RFC coach, who put pen to paper for Suttonians, in a note that read:

Nice touch on a tough day but hopefully our welcome will be just as hearty on the pitch for the return fixture.
