Safe Routes To School Initiative In Progress @ Bayside
Notice regarding works at Bayside
As part of the Safe Routes to School initiative, Fingal is to begin works along Verbena Ave at the junctions of Sarto Park and Alden Park from Tuesday, 1 November, 2022. This important work will continue until mid-February 2023.
The construction of a “School Zone” will include a new zebra crossing, buff coloured surface, the placing of new Pencil bollards, the construction of a cycle lane on the western side of the Verbena Ave (connecting to Kilbarrack Road), road markings and signage.
This is to help ensure the presence of the school and children in the area is highlighted to road users. Junctions surrounding the school will also be worked on to reduce will reduce vehicle speeds through the junctions and shorten crossing distances. These measures will result in safer conditions for children and vulnerable road users in the area.
Work on the project is being started in the mid-term break to help minimise disruption. Fingal County Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused at this time.
