Sutton X Disruption Signals Need For Long Term Traffic Plan

Fingal County Council has expressed an apology to local road users for the inconvenience caused by the suspension of traffic signals for up to 3 weeks at Sutton Cross and which has been deemed necessary to facilitate works at a development on Greenfield Road.

Accordingly, Fingal has put in place a traffic management plan that will run from 8pm to 5am, to ease congestion. Locals are advised to approach the area with increased caution during these times, which is for a temporary period only.

While restricting the suspension of traffic signals to night time hours is welcome, this new imposition signals a need for a longer term traffic plan, that can accommodate increased traffic volumes wrought by the imminent arrival of new residents to the Park Developments’ site at  Santa Sabina, as well as the increased level of activity at the former Techrete Site, currently under construction with the developer, Marlet.

This may require some long term thinking?
