Have Your Say On Local Bathing Areas – Says Fingal

Locals are being invited to have their say on where they’d like to take a dip next year as part of an annual review of designated bathing areas. Under EU and Irish law, local authorities have a responsibility to identify official bathing areas so they can be monitored for safety, water quality and level of use.

Fingal has the highest number of designated bathing water beaches in Dublin, located at Howth, Sutton, Portmarnock and Fingal Co Council is now seeking the public’s feedback on local bathing areas. Regular swimmers are now being asked to help decide which bathing areas should be identified for improvements and upgrades in 2023. Submissions should include information on facilities such as parking, toilets and picnic areas, as well as any safety issues.
