Last Stand for Suttonian Stalwarts Deserves Fitting Final Act

This Saturday marks the end of the road for two Suttonian stalwarts and no doubt Jamie Reilly (second row) and Gar Connolly (prop) will feel a lump in their throat as they take to the field at the McDowell Memorial Ground for one last time. With the business end of a most unusual season coming to a close, Saturday sees Leinster League Division 1A table toppers land in the McDowell Memorial grounds. With 52 points on the chalk board, Bective Rangers look in pole position to qualify for the round robin and so compete with other provincial winners to regain their place in the AIL. But nothing is set in stone and it won’t be without a stern examination from the home team.

With 28 points to date, the Sutton side sits mid-table and it will be important for both players and supporters alike that the momentum is maintained and that the season is memorable for all the right reasons, including the contribution to the club made by Messrs. Connolly and Reilly over the years and a fitting send off is nothing less than they deserve. Kickoff 2.30 and prepare for send off! All Welcome. Will keep you posted at JustLocal.
